C3 hood latch finish

What is the correct finish for a '69's hood latches, male and female, silver cad, black phosphate, etc. Thanks!

Silver. Remember they were installed when the blackout and the body color was applied. Would expect to see overspray on original cars.

Like I said in a previous post, most of us are suffering from NCRS syndrome. I was thinking hinges. 1,000 lashes with a wet noodle. The latches were a black phosphate finish. When new they had a tendency to have a little sparkle when the light hit just right.

Jack, the male side: the base piece is all phosphate including the bolts, washers etc. the round spring seat is cad plate, the spring painted black, and the male prod, natural. On the underside of hood the main base and nuts etc. is all phosphate, the spring is black. There is a special cotter key attaching the cable, it being the smallest on the car. Take care of it!Make sure to have real phosphate plating done on these parts. It can't be faked!
