C3 - 1971 Carpet Installtion question

What carpet covers the area just in front of the 3 compartment's frame? It is about 3/4" wide. Is it covered from the seat back carpet that wraps over the top and then down to the rear floor? Is there carpet on the sides of the compartments? Thanks, Jim

Jim just looked at my original owner 70 which still has the original carpeting. The carpet does come the bottom of the back of the seats over the top and then down to the rear floor. In fact it does not 100% cover the area forward of the compartment frame. The bare spots are small but they are there for sure. This is the factory installed condition.

On my original interior '71 coupe, the carpet glued to the front bulkhead that is behind the seatbacks does wrap over the top, and ends at where it meets the floor, in front of the storage compartment frame, leaving a gap of about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch bare space in front of the storage compartment frame and the back of the forward bulkhead frame.
