Does anybody have a cross referance guide that will use the numbers from the assembly manual and show the true size, gauge, threads, etc.?
For anybody starting a restoration, I can't begin to tell you how important it is to bag and label everything. If your not going to use it, you will still need to know what it was.

No, there isn't - the old GM Standard Parts Manuals catalogued thousands of fasteners, but very few production fastener part numbers were ever catalogued or stocked for service use. Joe will have more info on this issue.
Yes, that's the way it is. The Standard Parts Catalogs did contain information on thousands of fastners. I think that many of these were actually used in PRODUCTION, but only about 5% were ever originally used in PRODUCTION on Corvettes. Many of the rest may have been used in PRODUCTION on other vehicles and could be used to SERVICE any application. Many others are SERVICE-only fastners. The Standard Parts Catalog does not provide any information relative to headmarkings or head type (trimmed or untrimmed). Earlier versions of the catalog didn't provide any information as to finish, either.
GM has internal catalogs that detail the specs of all fastners. The ones that I've seen are hard-bound books. However, they're only current to the date of publication and I don't know how far back they go for any particular edition. I don't have any of these. At least, I don't have any YET.
Many of the AIM part numbers that never appeared in the Chevrolet parts or price book were actually listed in old GMC books. Years ago, I ordered a complete set of GMC part number replacement catalogs and was amazed how many AIM numbers showed up in them as being available. That was in the early 70's tho and just about all of those numbers discontinued since the late 70's. I believe many of the fastenerd were used on big trucks and busses and for some reason, remained available through GMC but not Chevrolet/GM. Never did quite understand that but glad I ordered when I did.
