More #s confusion on my 69

I'm trying to figure out if my carb could be original to my car. The car was built Jan 31/69 and is a 390hp/auto car. The carb that I have is a 7029207 with 0664 stamped under this part number. Near as I can tell, the 7029207 is for a 69 350hp engine but the 0664(which I assume is a date code) doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

    Greg------

The 7029207 carb was produced for SERVICE for MANY years. It was supplied in a box marked GM #7046904. While it was never catalogued as a SERVICE replacement for your L-36 application, it could have been used by someone for that application inasmuch as the last SERVICE carb for the 1969 L-36 was discontinued 25 years ago. For the most part, there are only relatively minor internal differences between the carbs and the 7029207 should work well.

The date code indicates that the carb was manufactured on the 66th day of 1970, 1980, or 1990.

Thanks Joe. I never even thought of it being a service replacement carb...that explains the odd date code. The carb works fine but I think I'll start looking for the proper one.
