    Spark Plug Heat Shields '66 BB

    I have an early production 1966 with the L-72 engine. I understand that the original spark plug heat shields had factory markings on them indicating their originality.

    Please let me know how to tell originals from replacements. Also, any idea on where I may find NOS ones?

      I'm not aware of any mfgr logos on the shields but its been 7 or 8 years since i was the 66 natioal tem leader. i'd be interested in knowing about logos if indeed they exist on originals. mike

          Would he be talking of what appears to be a seam that runs through the shield on the botton side? Which i think is only a press mark from the way they were stamped out. This is the only thing that I know that the repro's don't have. Otherwise, I know of no logo's either.
