    Jerry,

Your 290 HP would have originally had the 3736097 solid lifter cam. It's no longer available from GM but I believe Crane Cams in Florida makes an exact reproduction.

It's also available from Federal Mogul Speed Pro. The part number I have is TP113, but I believe that is the old TRW number, and it has been superceded.

Thanks! I'll annotate my old Speed Pro catalog.

I've also got a question about lifters. My understanding is that the F-M equivalent to the "585" edge orifice lifter is AT840R.

I also have a note that the AT-992 is specified for only SBs, not BBs, which implies that they are edge orifice rather than the BB piddle valve type.

          Am I missing something?

they list both types for BBC BUT the AT840R for roller rocker only because they require less oil. i have heard that the AT840R are no longer available.

It was suggested to me to use an Elgin Pro Stock E-900-P for a similar setup. Will that work also? What are the differences? Thanks. - Kevin
