Top surround and inner fender install tips??

I am getting close to driving down to Corvette Image and picking up a new top surround for my 67. I want to make sure I get the inner fenders located properly. A search of the archives suggested using the splash guards to locate the inner fenders. Do I use the inner splash guards or the outer splash guards and is there a way to use the hood hinge locations as a cross check for the inner fender locations?

Well, I guess you are all waiting for me to answer this. If you fit the splash shields that go between the frame and the innerfender tabs so that they match up with the moulded indentions and match it to the bolt hole in the fender it will locate the rear portion of the innerfender panel. As for the front where the hindge goes, there are two considerations. One is the verticle dimension and the other is horizontal. I can give you these measurments if you want them or you can leave them loose and unbonded and trial mount the hood. Then by pulling back and forth set the dimensions to fit. I use a jig so I dont remember the numbers, but if you e-mail me I will get them to you.
