I happen to have found someone selling a conv. top frame for a 58 missing 2 bows for the upper portion of the frame. They want about $150 and say, though I have not verified yet that it's in good condition. I can't find the price of frames in my catalogs, though I only have two. Any help on the pricing here would be greatly appreciated. I really don't have any other info on the frame just yet and am sure I will not be able to answer too many questions presented to me about the deatils of this particular frame but I would be glad to try to find out from the seller. Thanks for any help,
There is a company named Sully's Tops, 5765 E International, Clovis, CA 93611, (209) 299-9542 who sell reproduction corvette soft top frames. They advertise for the do it yourself restorers their "individual parts are interchangeable with original parts and are available if you are restoring an original frame". They will also restore your frame for you. I have seen their frames at Corvettes of Carlisle the last few years and they are very nice. They also sell the latches, weatherstrips and brackets. I have been looking for an original frame for my 59 and have hesitated at the asking price of $1500. This is for frames that need total restoration, usually straighten, new weatherstrips, bead blasted and on most the rear bow replaced. Apparently it is common for the bow to rust beyond repair. At the last Corvettes of Carlisle, I saw only two 56-60 frames for sale, neither of which was usable as is. There seems to be a much greater demand then supply. My advice is purchase the top.
