72,73,74,77 350 and 88 305 depends on the year and none for a corvette

Chris, The 3970010 block was used for 350 cu in engines for a lot Chevrolet products, from 1970-1979, including Corvette's. Clem is correct, the CKB suffix is listed in the Hollander Interchange, 43rd Edition, as being used in Chevrolet passenger cars, Monte Carlo, Chevelle, and Nova between 1972-1977. The assembly date you listed, K 12 09 seems to be out of range for useage, I would take another look at the assembly date and suffix on the pad. FWIW, if the block pad is a little over 1 inch wide, it is a 1977 up block. If it is about 3 inches wide, it is a pre-1977 block. Hope this helps. Dave

The "K" prefix indicates the block was cast, machined, and assembled by McKinnon Industries in Canada (now St. Catherine's Engine Plant).
