Hi Everyone:
I'm in the process of removing my exhaust manifolds on my '66 L-72 with side pipes. I've started with the driver's side and I've removed all the exhaust port bolts, exhaust pipe flange bolts, etc. but now I'm having difficulties in removing the manifold from the car. My car has standard steering and a 4-speed and the mainifold seems to be stuck between the steering box and the cross shaft for the clutch.
What's the secret here to remove the manifold? Do I need to remove the steering gear box. Could someone help?
A second question regarding the insatllation. The previous owner installed exhaust manifold gaskets, the mating surfaces are relatively good, should I install the manifolds w/o gaskets?
Thanking you in advance.
