    Mystery parts_C2

The items in the attached photos were carefully placed in zip-lok bags and apparently just as carefully UNLABELED. Can anyone identify either of them? The first part is made of fiberglass or some kind of composite. The small ball joint and seats were in a bag with the larger steering linkage ball assembly.
    Thanks.

    Steve

#2 looks like clutch linkage parts

See if they match those shown on the attached catalog page

They did a good job of keeping it together for you. I don't recognize the black thing but the other stuff is your clutch linkage hardware that attaches to the block of the engine and the frame of the car. The Z-bar (as some call it) pivots on the ball and the other stuff. I see the seals and the retainer ring is there also. If you look at an assembly manual for that section of your car you will see all that stuff. It might be missing a felt washer and that would be shown in the assembly picture. Also, if you look at any one of the popular corvette parts catalogs for that section of your car, you will see those items. Later, Terry

        Steve,

The ball stud is for the frame side which uses the lock and nut to secure it to the bracket welded there. This is one of the secure points for the clutch cross shaft. The two plastic cups or seats go into either end of the cross shaft. The bent 'C' clip or spring is supposed to hold the plastic cup secure in the cross shaft.

The stuff in the second photo is all the parts for the frame side of the Z-bar, except for the felt seal (see UPC 7 in the A.I.M.). The item in the first photo looks a little like the rectangular felt seal for the upper clutch pushrod, but it's hard to tell from the photo.

john: aren't you thinking of c-1's in reference to the apparant felt pad? c-2's have the rubber bellows seal at firewall for upper clutch pushrod.regards, mike

The two nylon ball seats are only used on the frame side stud; no seats are used on the engine side - that end is metal-to-metal, and there's a square-section rubber seal on the engine-side stud to retain the grease.

Mike, you're absolutely right - had my C-1 hat on for that one

                    Clutch Linkage Items

No idea what the item is in the left pic but I agree with others that the right side items are clutch linkage related...AND unique to pre 65 because of the design of one of the parts. (possibly also early 65)
