    Re: 69 Seat Backs

I want to say that I "think" that the thick ones I'm familiar with were made by EC? or E something. Is that your homie?

AND, I agree that the problem was in the area of the mounting clips. You just couldn't force them over the clips without some type of grinding.

As for the History Channel, who would restore a 24 ounce Datsun anyway. Chuck

You're thinking of another fellow named John Forntney, who resides on the left coast. EC = Everything Corvette. Them made them also. I think the thin ones TRUMPED them also.

Yes, EC Products is located in the sleepy little town of Atascadero, CA. It's located just off Highway 101 in central California in the general vicinity of Paso Robles. In fact, it's not too far from the spot where James Dean crashed his Porsche Spider in 1955 (his last words, according to his passenger who survived the crash were "surely, they see us" but, unfortunately, they didn't). It's also not far from the area where Howard Kirsch had his famous motorhome trouble when he was towing 1953 #003 back home from Monterey CA for restoration.

One time when I was travelling Highway 101 (Highway 101 is the 2nd slowest way to get to the Los Angeles from the SF Bay area, but it's a MUCH nicer ride than the 2 faster routes) I tried to find EC Products. I couldn't, though. Later, someone (I think that it was Ken Carter) told me that EC is operated out of the proprietor's house.
