    60 Taillight mounting?

I can't tell from any of my books. There are two holes at the rear of each housing. What hardware goes on the rear, threaded one? What is the front one for. Also, One of my catalogues shows gaskets for outer lens, one for inner lens and one for the other side of the inner lens against the body. Is this correct?

    Larry,

Your tail lamps should have a threaded hole that receives a threaded stud at the back going down into the hole in the fiberglass. There are also threaded holes in the horizontally portion where the bulb goes into the lamp. If I remember correctly there are two threaded studs at this position. You simply put a nut and washers to bolt the tail lamp to the body. Don't over tighten! You are correct on the gaskets, but I can't remember about the last gasket you mentioned. Maybe someone else can clarify that.

      Larry,

That should read "vertical portion" not "horizontal portion". Had a senior moment!

It's been awhile since I installed my taillamps. It makes sense to me, or maybe Bubba drilled an extra hole. My car is in storage with a foot or two of snow in front of the door or I would check it. Hopefully someone else will answer your question correctly.

I just installed the original tail lights in the un-damaged rear fenders and yes the tail lights have two holes each , body one hole for the screw that pulls down on the tail light rear area. The second hole I don't know what it's for. ?

If my body man didn't fill anything, there are no holes in the body that relate to that extra hole.

If you are going to show your car you will want to order the drain wicks that go in the tailight housing. It's CC part # 491311
