68 glass tinted or not tinted?

I am trying to figure out if my windshield was tinted originally or not? If the door glass was untinted does that mean the windshield was not also? Or, were there comminations there of? Thanks in advance, Terry

The 68 Corvette could come with only a tinted windshield, 5,509 with the AO2 option, or with all windows tinted, 17,735 with the AO1 option. The tinted windshield only and the speed warning indicator option were the cheapest options in 1968 at $10.55.

So it sounds like you could get either 1) No tinted glass at all. 2) Tinted winshield only, AO2 option. and 3) All tinted glass, AO1 option.

With air-cond (C-60) you should have the tinted glass all around.

I believe in the mid-years, when you ordered A/C in a coupe, only the rear window was automatically tinted. My '67 A/C convertible was ordered without tinted glass (windshield & windows). If I'm incorrect, someone please correct me. I have a good forgettery (i.e. Dickie Whittington's NCRS syndrome).
When it comes to C3, someone else will have to help you.

I am not sure if or when but I know that 68 could be ordered with plain clear windshield. I only know that because I have seen one that was original to the car. I am trying to figure out what to do with my car because the windshield was replaced. It has clear glass otherwise. Thanks everyone, Terry

PS, worked on my vette today. I installed the left side sping and a better left front spindle. The other looked like it started to spin a bearing at some time in the past and had heat marks and a faint ridge. Could get enough play out of it either. I had everything apart from my crossmember dent removal project. I will have the car back on the ground soon. My tool thingy really slowed down my progress on my car. I would really like to finish it this summer maybe. All for now, Terry
