3863143 Replacement

Am looking for a replacement for an L71 Cam. Keep running into dead ends. Some cam manufacturers claim "theirs" is and exact match. Any recommendations?

I'm told that Crane Cams makes an exact copy but I've never actually charted one to find out. Give the a call.

The cams that were coming out of GM for the last 10 or so years of it's existance were terrible so you're actually better off with an aftermarket cam.

I'd go with the Federal Mogul Speed Pro CS-165R, which is a 143 clone. I believe it has the groove in the rear journal, so you'll have to deal with that. IIRC beginning in '67 BB cams did not have the rear journal groove.
