67 Hardtop Interior Moulding Color

I am having my 67 roadster hardtop restored by Glassworks. The car has a white interior with black dash and console. The headliner on the hardtop is white with black moulding. The top also came with the optional black vinyl. Matt at Glassworks tells me that on all of the tops he has seen, the moulding has been the same color as the headliner which should be white in this case. However, my moulding is black and appears to have been black when it came from the factory. Does anyone have any information as to what should be the correct color of the interior moulding for this hardtop or how the correct color can be verified? Any help appreciated.

Paul,

I once bought a hardtop at the NCRS meet in Florida and it had a white headliner and white moulding. Still have the moulding. After 40 years the top may have been rebuilt before. Incorrectly it seems.

I agree with JR. I know of two all orig 67's with white interior and the h-top headliner and mldgs are white.

I wonder if the h-top was originally from a black interior car and someone replaced the headliner years ago? If I remember correctly, the only color that was available from GM for many years was white.

I have an original black vinyl top in my storage garage, I'll look at lunch.

Paul,
I too have a white/black interior 67 vert and have original the black vinyl hard top. The headliner is white and so are the mouldings. Your mouldings should be whilte as well.

Just got back from lunch went by my storage garage. I haven't looked underneath the plastic in 20 years. My Black vinyl top has a beautiful black headliner and matching black molding. I bought this from the Pomona Swap 30 years ago so I'm sorry I don't know the interior color that this car cam on but it looks awesome in a STD interior and you'd think the most prevalent color of choice for a headliner in STD trim.

Thanks for all the responses. I will have the mouldings done in white as this appears to be the way they should be.
