Brent, I will try to help with you number 222 on the tank sheet. The numbers written all over the body of your car have no correlation at all to the 222 on the tank sheet. All 67 tank sheets we numbered in sequence from 1 to 500. If the last 3 digits of your vin are 500 or under then your hand written code on the tank sheet will be within 1 to 6 of the v i n. If the last 3 digits of your v i n are above 500 then they will be 501 to 506 of the v i n because of of the hand written numbers starting over again at 1 but the v i n's continuing onto 999. Joe, Thank you very much. I heard that explanation once or twice before and I believe it is correct. However; I still don't understand the "1 to 6" or "501 to 506" differential. Is that "approximately"? Thanx, Brent

Brent, I'm not sure of the discrepency either. Since the tank sheet numbers were hand written I'm sure there were some numbers missed here or there. The 2 67 tank sheets I have are off by 1 number. Last 3 of my vin is 246 and the sheet's hand written number is 245, the other is vin 605 and the tank sheet written number is 104. The first car is below the first 10,000 cars and the second car is close to the end. so I think the 1 or 2 numbers before is probably more realistic although how they got there is beyond me!! Al Grenning has a fantastic seminar he does reguarding numbers and tank sheets which I have listened to a couple of times. You should try to catch it sometime at a national or regional that he attends. I guess that's about it on this subject for now. Joe
