Odometer lens, which side faces out?

I am about to reassemble my 67 C2 cluster, and somehow I didn't make note which way the odometer lens fit correctly. I can tell top from bottom since there are corners cut off to orient it, but inside from out is a different story. The lens is strange in its construction as in it is not flat. Once side is flat and the other side is angled, such that the two sides are not parallel. Also, there are small rubber pads on one side and not the other. Which side should point outward towards the driver???

    Tim,

The rubber pads go on the cluster between the edge and the two little pegs. Then the lens goes on the rubber pads. The smooth side is toward the retainer and the little legs on the lens go on the rubber pads.

Sounds backwards but it's not. Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    JR

The lens are "Concaved" when you are looking at them. They "dish" or "dip" in to the gauage faces.
