I have been unable to find a RH 68 bumper brace 3914258. Will a 69 fit with the RH 68 extension bracket 3915766? Paragon only has 70-72 and they say that it will work but I have my doubts. Thanks, Larry

Larry-----
I can tell you this: the 1968 bumber brackets, GM #3915765 and 3915766, were unique to 1968. The 1969 brackets, GM #3958795 and 3958796, were unique to 1969. The 70-72 brackets, GM #3964157 and 3964158, were unique to 1970-72. For SERVICE, none of these ever replaced any other. That would imply that GM considered that none of the sets were "close enough" to the others to be acceptable for SERVICE replacement for others. However, that does not mean that the later brackets could not be made to work. It's hard to imagine that there is any great and "fundamental" difference between these brackets. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Addendum
Joe, Thanks. How did you find that? I don't have Doc Rebuilds catalog and I couldn't find any index listings for them on the website. I will call them Monday. Paragon lists 68, 69 and 70-72 in their catalog but has apparently discontinued the 68. I have the old one but it was bent at the bumper attachment point and I could probably have a weld shop bend it back.- Top
