    Gray Phosphate source

I'm having trouble up here in the great white north trying to find someone to replate the hood latches and underbody heat shields on my 69 with gray phosphate. Does anyone know of any platers that do this in Canada or the north western states? Thanks.

I used a place in Toronto

I sent some of my stuff to a place called Active Metal Finishing in Toronto. They do Cad, Zinc and black Phosphate for sure. That a long way from you. There phone number is 416-233-9810. Mike

Thanks Mike,I'll call them tomorrow. How did you like to deal with them...good, so so? Anyone else know where I could send these parts for gray phosphate?

Greg, I'm interested in having some gray phosphate plating done here as well, but haven't gotten to it yet. There is an ad in the Yellow Pages that appears promising. Try a firm in Toronto by the name of M&M Plating at (416) 267-5811. Let us know how it works out!

It is not that difficult to do this yourself. I obtained the chemical from a place called "Shooters' Solution".

They were good to deal with. Make a list of everything your sending them. Make sure they know what you want done so everything comes out the way you want it. Also it is pricey for just a few pieces. You can send them 5 small pieces or a big bucket full for the same price. Mike

                    Try Caswell Home plating systems

I used there system for cad and black phosphate of small items. Bolts ect. There is a learning curve with these systems and if your only doing a few parts it may be cheaper to send them out. Mike
