    69 alternator differrences

Does anyone know what the differences are in regards to appearance between alternators 1100833 and 1100881 and especialy the late 69 to 70 1100900? All I know is that they are all 42A and appear to be close from what ever pictures I can find. The reason I'm curious is that I would like know if the 1100900 would look correct on my early 69 even though it appeared several months after my car was built. Thanks.

    Greg------

The 1100833 and the 1100881 are externally identical except for "numbers".

The 1100900 has the same drive-end case configuration as the the above. In other words, it has the "large" front case openings which extend all the way to the perimeter of the case.

I believe that the split-ring (rear) case half is the 1970 style, though. This is identical to the 1969 except for 2 features: (1) there is a small raised rectangle below the Delco-Remy script, and (2) the ground bolt mounting lug is on a boss which is raised off of the rear of the case by about 1/4". The 1969 case used a mounting lug which was nearly flush with the rear of the case.

Both the 1969 and 1970 split ring case halves use the "7 fin" heat sink.
