When I removed the convertible(original), I noticed 2 rivits on the front most side frame just inboard of the 2 large recessed phillips screws. The large phillps screws appear to attach the metal header to the side frame. The 2 rivits also go through both the header and side frame on each side.Found that out when I removed the phillips screws thinking I could better repair the rust on the header on the bench. Seems the rivits were set after the vinyl was wrapped around the edge. Had to rip the vinyl from arround the rivit. The question is, are the rivits used to secure the top? Will I screw up the alignment if I remove the rivits and header to repair the rust?
