'65 396/425 Water Pump Pulley Question

We have two, trying to figure out if either is the right one.

One has p/n 3906656 stamped into the front of the hub and is hidden by the fan clutch, cannot find any other markings.

The other has p/n 3942992 stamped into the face of the forward pulley. If this number were positioned at 12 o'clock the letters BA are at 4 o'clock and TP at 8 o'clock.

Since the pulleys were installed at St. Louis vs. shipping with the engine from Tonawanda, you can see the correct/original PN called out in your copy of the AIM, Option Section L78, and it's 3864480....

As Jack H. says, the "480" would be original on your L78. I can email a pic of the pulley hub showing the stamping, if you wish. Number is hidden by the flange of the fan clutch.

The 3906656 shows up in my books in Oct '66 for the '67 Corvette 427 (exc. C60), while the "480" still indicates for '65 L78 and all 427 '66 Corvettes. The "480" also used on '65-66 L78 passenger Chevs.
