I hate to keep on the subject of gas tank stickers, but it has become seemingly so important. I have heard over the years that the gas tank sticker was not an exact duplicate of the window sticker, and that some items could be on the car but not show up on the gas tank sticker. TRUE???? Thanx anybody and everybody. Brent

Re: 1967 gas tank sticker
To answer the first part of your question, the tank sticker is not an exact duplicate of the window sticker in FORM and some other content, but the factory-installed equipment or options listed for the car would be duplicated and all-inclusive.- Top

Your best bet is to search the archives and study what's been reported...some great stuff and a tad more comprehensive and insightful that are playful friends above!Tom Russo

Brent:
It is true that the Corvette Order Copy form IS NOT the same format as the window sticker form.
It is QUITE THE OPPOSITE, that the window sticker shows items not listed on the tank sticker. There are at least 2 items listed on tank sticker that are not mentioned on the window sticker.- Top

Re: 1967 gas tank sticker; Big Deal!
I guess the tank sticker order copy is really important (one reason 67s are so valuable) but I could never understand why. There's NO vin# on them.Any tank sticker with the approx. same options can work. There is a vin# on the window sticker and the POP. These should be the ultimate documents!- Top

Mike,
I can't agree more but Protect-o-plates are the easiest to reproduce. Many uneducated corvette buyers also think that protect-o-plates are something special and if a Corvette has one it must be real.- Top

Re: 1967 gas tank sticker; Big Deal!
WOW guys!!!!! Merry Christmas. I didn't mean to get a big thing going. One more thing: I bought my car in 1971 before alot of changes were being made to these cars. I have an aux. hard top, F41 suspension (car is 435HP), and 5 original KH aluminum wheels (original spare tire still has 1967 air in it. HA!!), none of which show up on the gas tank sticker. Could it have been possible for this many omissions to have occured? If you read the earlier stuff in this thread, you will remember the job number discrepancies, and how my car fell out of order in some way. Could this have been someone (like the original owner) changing the order at the last minute? None of these things are hard to change anyway to meet originality. Thanks again guys, Brent- Top

Re: 1967 gas tank sticker; Big Deal!
Brent, I don't think there could be omissions. More likely the guy went to the dealer to get his car, saw the KH wheel display and said, "I gotta have those".As for the F-41; Are you sure it's F-41? All BB's have heavy duty suspention.- Top
