Merry Christmas one and all. It seems the deeper I go trying to put the correct stuff on my '72 LT-1, the deeper I have to go! I found I had replacement 7 leaf springs, so I found the correct 9 leaf ones. I then noticed that the spring to diff bolts were 7/16" not 9/16", this meant the diff cover is from a later car. The diff numbers and date are right, just the cover is wrong. O.K. I have the correct diff cover now (by the way any easy suggestion on that change?). Now the question, the old spring to trailing arm bolts were incorrect, no castle nut and cotter pins, I found the right bolts, only to hear that converts take shorter bolts than coupes. Is this true? How long should they be? Were do I find the proper convert bolts? When will this end???

Re: It only ends when you stop
Bolts should be available from several vendors such as Joe Ray, Dr Rebuild, C Central, MAD, etc. Might still be available from Generous Motors yet. Been a while since I bought any. They used to come in a kit with cushions, retainers, bolts, nuts, washers and cotter pins. Should cost somewhere about$32.00 for the kit, that is until Uncle Generous price increase the first of the year.
