    C3 69 windshield/headlight washer selidoid?

i was also working on my washer pump and have a question. where do the 2 wires from the headlight to windshield diverter solenoid hook? they dont show up in the assembly wiring diagram. one wire has a barrel connector that looks like the 2 teminals on the front of the pump. my other one was cut off. so do they both hook to that double female connector on the front of the pump? and what plugs in parallel to those wires on the solenoid connector? the picture in the wiring diagram shows a 4th main terminal. it is ground fed thru the fan motor then to the starter ground. where is that tab for that wire located? does it just go under one of the bolt heads?
hope everyone has a happy holliday!!
    regards dick

    Dick:
Without going over to where my '69 is stored for the winter, I will try to answer your question from memory. If I get it wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me. There are 5 wires for the washer motor and solonoid. The ground attaches to a tab mounted at the very top of the washer pump through one of the fasteners that hold it to the motor. There are 2 that plug into the face of the washer pump under the plastic "umbrella". These are barrel type plugs (at least on early '69's like mine and not spade type plugs as in later models)and activate the pump. Then there are 2 wires that are in a double connector that plugs into the underside of the solonoid. These activate the solonoid when you hold in the washer button to divert water from the winshield outlet to the headlamp outlet. You have to hold the button in while the pump is pumping to keep the small needle (similar to a carb needle except that it has a point on both ends) in the position to make the fluid go to the right outlet. I hope this helps.

      Re: C3 69 windshield/headlight washer selidoid?

jeff thanks that helped a lot. but im trying to figure out where the 2 wires from the solenoid go. one has the wierd barrell connector and therefore goes to one of the front pump female bbl connector. my other wire from the solenoid has been cut off. did it have the other bbl connector that hooks to the front female? if so it seems like the pump connections are in parallel with the solenoid? someone in a previous life cut most all the wires on my washer/wiper. i couldnt understand why till i took the pump apart. the plastic switch was broken into crumbs and all the wires were shorted together. so i have a rebuilt motor and am trying to figuer out what hooks where.
does anyone have a bench test hook up to check it out before i mount it in the car?
      thanks, dick

Sorry- I didn't quite understand your original question but now I do. I will go over to my car tomorrow and see if I can get an answer.
