I've been searching the internet and other sources for some time now looking for a mid-year coupe to purchase. One of the first things I look for is how well the bumpers align. I'm surprised by the number of cars that have uneven bumpers. I realize that this can be an indication of prior body damage but I've seen it on cars that were alleged to have little or no prior damage. My question is....Are these bumpers (front and rear) that difficult to align or do most people not take the time and care to do it properly?

Re: C-2 Bumper alignment
Difficult to align might be a bit of an understatement for most people. Patience, patience, patience is what it takes. To align them, you must loosen all bolts before you start. You will need a straight edge and a helper. It takes time to manuver the bumpers. I have spent almost two days on a mid year getting the bumpers to suit me.Dick Whittington- Top

John, I agree with Dick. There are difficult to align and without a doubt a helper is the only way to go. I removed mine for rechroming, so don't assume that if they have been removed it was a result of body damage.
Good luck in your search, it took me 2 years!
