C-2 4-speed cross shaft

Hi All:

Now that I know I need some replacement parts on the cross shaft, I have some questions for those in the know.

I need the seal and the nylyon ball seat on the block side, however, various vendors show a rubber seal and others show a felt seal. Which is the correct seal for the block side of the shaft and does the seal fit over the ball or what? Just how doea it all fit?

OK, Here's what to do. Go to your GM dealer and order: 3743360 (1), 3743355 (1), 3756326 (1), 3743349 (2), 3756326 (1), 3898610 (1), 15553615 (1), 3866568 (1),. Add a nut and a lock washer and you have all you need to fix your problem. When you get these parts it will become clear how to fix your problem. There are no ball seats on the block side of the cross shaft - it's metal-to-metal, with a rubber ring on the block side of the ball on the engine stud. As I found out from your e-mail, that rubber seal ring is now available separately from the stud (which comes with the seal) from LICS.
