My 1975 coupe has a thin sheet steel panel in the passenger side floor below the seat. It is riveted to the fiberglass and appears to be a heat sheild of some sort. As it is quite badly done I wondered if this was standard for the 1975 floor pan or whether this was a later repair. It does appear quite old & has large blobs of red sealant on it. Many thanks

Re: 1975 C3 Floor pan
Mogie, what you're seeing is exactly how the "factory did it" for 1975. You're exactly right on how you describe it. When I put carpet in my '75 in '92 I found what you did. Kind of a "homemade" looking metal plate cover over the catalytic converter area. 1975's do have fiberglass floors except this area which was sealed with what appears to be a red/orange RTV type sealer. If you go over to www.corvetteforum.com and go to the "factory correct" threads, there is quite a long post on this subject(with photos)and other 1975 owners who have found the same thing. See you there.- Top
