I am looking for information on the composition and part numbers for the items contained in the front wheel hub assembly for a 1963 corvette. According to the AIM, the GM# for the assembly is 3846301-2. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The components you described are PRODUCTION-only assemblies. They consisted of the steering knuckle, steering arm, hub, bearings, races, brake drums, and the complete brake assembly. There are really too many parts to list here. Also, ALL of the parts of this assembly are long-since GM-discontinued so if your interest in the part numbers is to order individual parts from a GM dealer, the numbers won't do you any good.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

If you are looking for parts, I believe many of the '63 front wheel strut and hub parts were the same as pass car.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Yes, many of the 1963 Corvette front suspension parts are the same as passenger car. The wheel hubs, steering knuckles (spindles) and brake assemblies are the same. The steering arms are different. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1963 Front Wheel Hub
Joe & Bill --
Thanks for the help. I need to replace the actual hub -- one of the studs broke. The current hub is part #3812712 -- I was just trying to verify that is what I need to find to replace it. Since I was going to be working on it anyhow, I thought I would go ahead and see what else was correct and what wasn't. Do you know a resource that can give me all of the part numbers?- Top

You don't need to replace the hub because one of the studs broke. Just press out the old stud and press in a new one. This is a very common repair. If you don't feel up to doing it yourself, take the hub to a machine shop. They'll be able to do it in a few minutes and for a minimal cost. Bring a stud with you to simplify the process just in case they don't have the one you need. GM #3910340 is the stud you need and most GM dealers should have this in stock.
The parts information which you seek can be found in older editions of the Chevrolet or Corvette P&A Catalogs. These are only available used from automotive publications dealers or on eBay from time-to-time.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
