I am in process of installing the original 327 in my 63-it had a68 327 in it with a pcv valve coming off the oil filler tube in the front of the intake. The original engine has a hole in the block behind the intake for aroad draft tube?Or should it have one of those round pyramid things bolted in there with fitting for the pcv?Thanks-Terry

Re: 63 pcv system
The "Hat with nipple" arrangement can be substituted at the rear of the block functionally without difficulty.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: 63 pcv system
The PVC system for the 300HP and the 340HP come from the back of the block with a metal and rubber plug. There was a pipe that connects to the plug and goes around the right hand side along the valve cover and terminates at the back of the carb. It is connected to the PVC valve via rubber hose. The PVC is screwed into a 90 degree fitting on the back of the AFB. If you are rebuilding the 327 make sure that the separator is installed in the valley of the block before installing the intake. No separator and that AFB will suck oil right out of that engine at high rpm. Oil vapor that is!
Good luck,

Re: 63 pcv system
The 68 327 you removed is a lot different than my original owner 68 327/350HP. I have the oil filler tube, but there is no hose coming from it. Both of my valve covers have the PVC function. The passenger side is the fresh air supply connected by a hose to the air cleaner. The drivers side has the PVC valve with hose connected to the carb.- Top

Re: 63 pcv system
63's had a one-year-only "reverse-flow" PCV system, where the "intake" side was a hose from the front of the air cleaner base to the oil fill tube, and the "exhaust" side was from the vent hole at the back of the block through an adapter and hose to the PCV valve on the back of the carb. Paragon and LICS will have the parts you need.- Top
