Re: 63 Trailing Arm Hardware Questions
If you look at the revision record of sect. 4 sheet 5.00 you will see that it was "redrawn and revised" on 3-26.
The new shim design went into production in late '63. AIM revisions do not tell us the date the new parts were actually used in production, but the JG often gives approximate sequence numbers for the changes based on observation, so the AIM and JG should be used together to determine the configuration that a particular sequence number should be.
Remember, the AIM was continuously revised as the production year went by, and the copies we have indicate the final configuration. Always look at the AIM revision block when referring to any sheet as this will give a hint of any changes that occurred during the year, and the JG will often give approximate sequence number effectivity to visually noticeable changes.
My SWC was built on March 16 (I have the production work order with the build date) and it was built with the slotted shims and a plain nut on the trailing arm bolt, so I strongly expect your car was also built with the slotted shims and a plain nut with no cotter pin.

Re: 63 Trailing Arm Hardware Questions
The standard non slotted nuts with lock washers that you describe are correct to at least mid July of 63. Ser #197xx, a very original car, has the early standard nuts/washers instead of the later slotted nuts.
I'm not 100% sure when the shim design changed but I agree with Duke that it was later than the date in the AIM and definitely later than Feb of 63.- Top
