Does anyone know how the fuel bowls on the service replacement Holley LIST #3124 differ from the originals? And any other differences?

What I would do....
go to a flea market, pick up a junk Holley that has the bowls and screws that you need. Make sure the needle & seat threads are there. Scap carps usually run around 15-20. Few years ago I picked up a 3418, complete, for $30.00, could not believe it. There are lot of rare Holleys that the sellers don't know the application, except the 3x2 carbs.
The difference between new & old bowls....don't know, but the fastners on new Holleys are no longer slotted for a straight screwdriver. I don't know if the socket is metric or not.- Top

Re: '65 396 Holley 3124
Yes, I have '69 date coded service replacement 3124 on my 396 that I proudly take originality deduction(s) for because it's a FINE example of a 'correct' GM service part from the era (rubber inspector's stamp still visible on air horn and other tiny marks that are NOT mentioned in our Judging Guides).
Service bowls have wider raise in casting leading to fuel line connections. They were designed (like '66 and later bowls) to accommodate internal gas filter vs. GS-416 factory original, single, external, in-line filter.
Original 3124 bowls are much more narrow (flat) in the area where the fuel lines connect. Put the two side by side and you'll never forget the mental picture....- Top
