          That's a Woodill Wildfire kit body - here's a photo of one I shot at the Akron Dragstrip in October, 1957 (there was a red one in one of the old Elvis Presley movies, whose title escapes me at the moment).

                Wrong movie, wrong teen idol

                I think you are thinking of Johnny Dark with Tony Curtis and Piper Laurie. There were several very old sports cars (new then) since it was made in 1954.

                Viva Las Vegas had Cobras, Sting Rays, Jaguars, and a few SCCA specials (C/M, D/M, etc.) A Woodill Wildfire would have been an ancient machine race-wise by then, being 1964.
