    69 build sheet

I forgot to ask in previous post. I have seen suggestions about how to remove bild sheet from the gas tank. I did not find it in a search of the archives.

Can someone point me to methods to remove the sheet?

    Thank you,

    Verle

I don't know about removal after droping the tank, but before you do anything brush off the dust and photograph it. This way you will have a record of it in case it falls apart during removal.

Verle, if you are going to replace the tank why not take snips and cut it out. I have done that, then go to an art supply store and get a clear decapoge (sp.) and cover the sticker

--------Many moons ago when Dick was restoring his 69 L88 I thought he had the best solution. Dont take it off the tank, period! Go get a new tank and store the original in a bag in a protected place. No risk of any more damage that way, and kind of cool to display the whole tank at the right car show. I know that the guy Dick sold the car to appreciated the extra thought and money Dick spent back then...........Bill S

Billy, I know my NCRS disease is getting worse. If forgot that I left the tank intact. Maybe too many "Gentlemen Jacks" or not enough one.

Well, we got the sticker off, 90% intact and mostly readable. It documentes the car as it currently appears, interior, exterior, engine, trans and all. 69 390, 4-speed, pwr steering, convertible, hardtop, gold exterior and tan interior. All of the major pieces are still original and most of the minor ones are.

Too bad it's such a rough old car, it deserves to be restored.
