Tach & Speedo cables

I just replaced the tach cable & i'm waiting on a speedometer cable for my C 1. I'd like to have my original fixed & put back in the car.Does anyone know a reputable place that does that type of resoration. I was told to be carful of who works on my car,as they switch parts.Original parts are hard to come by,switching parts seems to be a regular practice. Thanks in advance, Deb

you can buy a universal cable from your AC Delco dealer then cut it to fit inside your cable housing. or take the original cable assembly to the delco shop and have them replace the cable. mike

If you are restoring the car, try to keep the original housing if it is in good shape, the configuration of the crimp on the metal ends of the reproductions varies significantly from the originals.

You can buy a kit at Autozone for about $8 to replace the inner cable, and it works.
