Still waiting on all my midyear referance books from NCRS.......my new acquisition, a '67 - 427/435 is running a points distributor and standard coil. The original TI parts are all shipped off for check out and resto. before I get them installed, but I was wondering if the volatge regulator had to be changed out for the "non-TI" ignition ? In other words: does the TI system have a special voltage regulator ?

Re: '67 TI System
Tom----
I agree with Bill; for 1967 the TI ignition system used the regular PRODUCTION voltage regulator. However, earlier there was one application in which TI-equipped cars did use a different voltage regulator. That application was 1965-only for cars with TI and Air Conditioning. That voltage regulator was GM #1116378. That part was discontinued many years ago but, incredibly, a replacement for it is still available as GM #1985902. It currently GM lists for $418.00. But, if you've got a 65 with TI and A/C and you need a voltage regulator, you're in luck, albeit quite a bit poorer. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

PS
Due to early AIM references to C60 (air conditioning) shared by L78 (396) there was some internal confusion at St. Louis and EARLY '65 BB cars are also known to have gotten the solid state VR.... Trivia value only here, Joe.- Top
