Corvette Order Copy question

Those of you who have a '71 or '72 year Corvette, and have the 'build sheet or tank sticker', could you tell me if your partial VIN # is printed in the lower right corner of this document. Also what date is shown in the box labeled "Date Received".

I am starting to notice some interesting differences between like year sheets. I'm finding these descripencies interesting.

Warren- My '71 tank sticker has the partial VIN in lower right hand corner, in mirror image. The "Date Received" is in yy/mm/dd format. "Exp. Date of Prod." is same format.

My 71 Corvette order copy has the VIN derative printed in the mirror image toward the bottom right like Charlie's. The date recieved and exp. date of production is yy/mm/dd like Cherlies as well. My car is a May 71 car. The Indent. No. is 322530.

Thanks for the responses so far.

I have a copy of a 1971 build sheet that does not have this partial vin #, it is a 02/04/71 date.

My Corvette Order Copy sheet also has the partial vin #, with a 04/03/71 date.

I have not found any previous year sheets to have this partial vin # layout.

Another interesting anomalie about the above example sheet is, instead of saying TIRE SCHEDULING ONLY, in its place it states EXHAUST EMISSION LABEL

Mine has the key numbers mirror image below the last option No. which is 1VZK8AP TIRE PRESSURE STICKER. My car is pretty well loaded up so it has a long list.

My own copy is the same as your format. However this other copy does not show the key codes either.

I'm interested in determining if this change in the Corvette Order Copy occurred sometime after 02/01/71.

Any others out there?

Do you know if 72 Corvette Order/Tank Stickers are the same as 71. ?? i.e. VIN in reverse, key numbers etc.

I have not seen a '72 Corvette Order Copy sheet yet, but that is what I am wondering as well.

The '71 sheet that has the anomolies, is from the earliest LS-6 car I'm aware of.

Based on the order copies I have seen, the VIN and key codes started during 1971 production and continued through 1972 production and beyond. The other details y'all have mentioned I don't know about.

Thanks for that confirmation. It appears that this change on the Corvette Order Copy sheets did not begin during the model year start. From what I have witnessed looking at other 'build sheets' it doesn't seem to show up until about the 8th month of production model year (maybe March)?

I can not confirm when it started. I just recall that it was in model year 1971. When we wrote the TIM&JG that was not on our radar screen since it is not a judged item. That was back in the days when the book was called a judging manual, and the philosophy was to only include judged items.
