    Firewall Grommets

Questions about firewall grommets. Does the oil pressure line and the instrument wire harness wires go through the same grommet, about 1" diameter. Also do both the speedo and tach cables go through a common grommet about 1.5" diameter.

Advise year,3 speed,4 speed or auto and if AC.

I have a 66 4 speed with air. tach and speedo go thru 2 hole grommet above ballast resistor. I think on 3 speeds separate tach and speedo grommet.

with AC, oil line, wiring harness and 2 ac vacuum lines pass thru a 2" dia 4 hole grommet

Car is a 1967 Small block, 4 speed, no AC.
      Does this help?

        Ralph,

On 4 speeds, the tach and speedo go thru a single 2 hole grommet behind the ballast resistor.

The oil line and wiring harness go thru another 2 hole grommet. If you have a Long Island Corvette catalog see section 37

          Thanks,
I checked catalogs as well. Just wasn't sure. I think I got it.
How is the oil line disconneted from the back of the oil pressure gage?

            Ralph -

Just put a wrench on the fitting, unscrew it, and pull it out of the fitting on the back of the gauge. See pic a few threads up for what it should look like when you take it apart.
