    C2 Alternator Assembly Question

    Hi Everyone,

    Ref. '66 L-72

I need to index the back half of my alternator 90 degrees CW as the previous owner must of assemblied it incorrectly.

Never done this before, but is it just as simple of removing the four attaching bolts, pull the back half off and rotate it 90 degrees CW? Or, should I watch for bits and pieces to fall out when I pull it apart?

As usual, thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    Regards,
    Kurt

    Re: C2 Alternator Assembly Question

    Kurt,

Remove the screws but don't pull back. Just rotate the front section to position and you'll be OK. You will have to pull the pulley off to accomplish this. If it is stubborn, just pull the front section out a little to allow some turning room.

    Regards,

    JR

      Re: It Worked

Thanks J. Ray, it worked. I didn't remove the fan & pully, just pull the front out enough to clear and turned it 90 degrees CW. Thanks again.

Sometimes it's better to ask a simple question, than to make a stupid mistake.

      Regards,
      Kurt
