    C2 Firewall Blackout

Do I have this correct? The firewall blackout for a '67 is only about 1/2 way down the firewall. The rest stays natural. Inside the fender wells near the side vents is not blacked out.

Thats about it. Imagine a guy, than doesnt give a rats, leaning over the compartment and quickly shooting it with a wide fan spray gun.

Yep, I'm prepping mine right now, it was painted just down to the around area where it slopes inward and back. The tunnel area was left untouched.

        Scott,
How are you stripping the paint off the firewall and other areas. I'm using lacquer thinner but it takes too long.

Sorry not much help there, this project was blasted clean to the point where they damaged a lot of the panels when I bought it. I have filled in some low areas with Duraglass and reglassed other areas and sanded them. I plan on sealing next and then painting.

            Ralph,

Lacquer thinner and a soft scotch brite pad cleaned it off really fast for me, follwed by a clean cotton class A rags with more thinner. A tooth brush works well in the corners. It does take time, but to keep from damaging the glass as Scott mentioned about, that's the about all you can do. You could try some paint stripper, but that will probably be a longer process yet.
