Is it standard practice to replace all the zig zag seat springs when refurbing the seats. Mine look OK, they even still have good black paint on them although one is broken. I only see full spring sets offered in the catalogs.

Re: Refurbing C2 seats
Scott,
I did not replace the seat springs when I restored the seats in my 64 convertible. None of them were broken so I did not consider doing it. It may be possible to remove the lone broken spring and have it welded, although you may run the risk of losing the spring tension in the wire. I replaced the burlap and seat foam which really improved how the seat feels when sat on. I doubt the repair would be detectable to an interior judge given the springs location.

Re: Refurbing C2 seats
Scott,
If your zigzags are in good shape keep them, but keep them in the same positions. I installed new zigzags when I redid my seats. What a pain in the neck to get the crown and end bends just right. Besides, you use your old as a guide to bend the new. You'll save a lot of time.
