Hi All,
While working on Dad's 72, and getting farther along, I have noticed that the decklid for the convertible top does not lie flat. I am not sure if it is warped, or potentially misaligned. There is not yet weatherstripping in place (which I know can do this).
When looking at the lid, the front two corners are at the correct height, as is the left (Driver) rear. The right (Pass) rear corner is up about 1/4" in height. This appears to be a gradual slope toward the corner, not a sudden upturn due to a real obvious corner warp.
If I press on the corner, I can get it down and essentially into alignment. I have looked at the decklid system, and there are presently no shims installed between the lid and its supports. In addition, I can't find any other obvious way to realign/lower this corner. Inspection also fails to reveal any obvious cracks in the decklid that might allow this misalignment.
Any clues? I have looked through my manuals, and as yet can't find any way to realign decklid height. I would be appreciative of any assistance you could give me.
Thanks,
Patrick Hulst
