The tach cable in my 57 has broken many times throughout the years. It was removed by the previous owner a couple of years ago and never replaced. I installed a new cable and lubricant. After starting the engine, the tach began to make a sqealing noise. I would like to have it rebuilt, but I am not sure where the best place to send it would be. I live in Michigan, and would like to take it somewhere locally. I do not have a problem shipping it somewhere in order to get the best quality rebuild. Any recommendations?
You can check the yellow pages for a speedometer repair shop that is a Declo authorized facility. They can probably repair it, but aren't going to do a cosmetic restoration. I'm sure they could change out a face and needle if you provided it, however.
