Can the plastic line be removed/replaced WITHOUT removing the sending unit ??
I removed the small 'cap/nut' put the line doesn't seem to want to come out.
There is NO sending unit for oil pressure on C3 Corvettes which are equipped with a pressure line. The piece that you are probably referring to is simply a fitting and, as Dick mentioned, you don't need to remove it to remove the line. You do, of course, need to remove the tubing nut from the fitting.
Oil pressure sending units for C3 Corvettes did not begin until the 1974 model year. Then, a wire connected the the sending unit to the gauge and no pressure line was used.
