    '69 HD Shock Labels

Can someone please provide accurate information regarding 2-letter labels for 1969 F41 front and rear shocks? One vendor sells EN stickers for the fronts and AC for the rears, while another sells EN front and EP for the rears. What does the '69 TIM say? Thanks for any help.

The "EN" front and "EP" rear codes were used for 1968 with F-41. For 1969 the codes were "EN" front and "AC" rear.

However, I would not rule out the possibility that eraly 1969s used the 1968 code for the rear shocks.

Thank you Joe, and you read my mind. I also think it possible for early '69 cars to have the '68 code rear shocks. I assume the shocks themselves did not change, and it was only a label change? I wonder why...

Actually, and even though it's not indicated in the 1969 AIM, I think that there was a change in the F-41 shocks, at least for the rear, which occurred sometime during the 1969 model year. The earlier style was the 63-68 style. These shocks had a 2-5/16" OD tube section and the large "coulee hat" for the rear shocks which was about the same OD as the shock tube. The 63-68 style F-41 shocks may have been used for the front while the rears may have been the style described below. It's possible that by the end of the 1969 model year, both the front and rear were changed to the later style. Anyway, I think that the change in the broadcast code for the 1969 F-41 rears was as a result of the change in the shocks.

Sometime during 1969 I think that these changed to the smaller OD shocks. These were about 2" OD. Initially, the "coulee hat" for the rear was about this same diameter, too. Later (well after 1969) the "coulee hat" was reduced in OD.
