Posting this question for a friend; is it possible that "late" '65 power brake cars might have used 1/4" lines (as did '66 cars), instead of 3/16" lines like most '65 cars?

Re: '65 Power Brake Question
I may be wrong but I don't think so.65 and 66 is pretty spelled out by how they connect to the master cylinder / with adapter nuts and without. There is no reference to the size of brake lines in the 65 judging guide so you probably could get by with the different size.- Top

Re: '65 Power Brake Question
Everett - As we all know there are cases at the end/beginning of Corvette production years that interesting things occurred, e.g. carry-over parts; so why not new production parts if old stock is depleted; but somewhat difficult document. But, it's not impossible to document or research if you can take the time and the pool of original car left isn't too small or hasn't been changed to reflect current TIM&JG information.
I trust, knowing you, it has been determined that all the appropriate PB components on the '65 PB car are '66 PB components. That being the case, hopefully other examples will surface from your request and we'll all learn something about the production process that can be applied to the judging process. One, neither are an exact science; especially production 40 years after the fact and two there's a process to modify the TIM&JG based on new and accurate information. Pete- Top

Re: '65 Power Brake Question
Everett,
I would have to guess that the small dia brake lines were used right to the end of 65 production and the new larger 1/4" lines began at SOP for 66. The reason I believe this was the case was the fact that the brake line mounting position/location on the frame was changed for 66 and it's not likely this was modifyed on 65 frames just to use the new 66 lines. Even though the new 66 style master appeared on 65's well before the end of 65 production, I think the lines would have been the smaller 65 dia and use the adapter fittings at the master cyl.
