    Part Number Help

    What's a 340392 "clip"? It's from Group # 8.950.

My parts catalog doesn't have this part number. Nor does it have this Group number.

    chris----

Parts group 8.950 is a "Standard Parts" group. These are parts which are used in a wide array of GM applications. They don't appear in regular vehicle P&A Catalogs after the early 70's but, instead, are included in a seperate "Standard Parts" catalog.

GM #340392 is a special clip which is designed to retain 2 adjoining tubes of different sizes----one tube of .70" and another of .47". There is a tang on the top of the clip which fits into a mating surface hole to index the clip and prevent its rotation.

While this clip's primary group number is 8.950, you will also find it in regular parts group 3.162. It is used to retain adjoining fuel lines to the frame on certain year model Corvettes with "dual" fuel lines (supply+return).

GM #340392 was discontinued in April, 1990 and replaced by GM #25527423.
