I rebuilt the A/C heater box on my 1964 using the Dr. Rebuild kit. The kit was of EXCELLENT quality as were the instructions. The job itself is time consuming but not really very difficult in general. The only snag I ran into was replacing the center vent. The center vent and the radio speaker tend to interfer with each other. There is probably an easier way, but I ended up having to work the speaker and center vent loosely in place simultaneously before securing either of them. I believe I posted something in the archives about this that you may find useful. Let me know if you figure out how to attach the right front nut to the speaker cover after the center vent is in place. Mine is still missing!
Be sure to have replacement vent hoses handy and replace them at the same time. I definitely noticed a big difference after the rebuild. It is well worth the effort.
