if the date is way befor are after the build date on a carb would you just lose the five points, all though the carb # is right?

Carburetors normally are allocated 40 originality points, so you'd lose 20% of that (8 points) for an incorrect date, assuming the other four axes are correct (finish, installation, completeness, and configuration), and you'd still be eligible for all the condition points.- Top

No offense or flame intended here.
In some classes the carburetor date (and some other component dates) are called out on a separate line. The date may have more, or less, than 20% of the total item points in those cases, although it is usually around 20%.
Without a current copy of the applicable score sheet these point suggestions are just that, a suggestion.

Yup, I agree - I should have said "generally" instead of "normally"; I was referring to the '67 sheets as an example, as I don't have '69 sheets. I suggested to Lyndon that he get a set of score sheets from Roy in another post up near the top of the board.- Top
